The City of Golden offers you and your eligible family members a comprehensive and valuable benefits program. We encourage you to take the time to educate yourself about your options and choose the best coverage for you and your family.

Open Enrollment is your annual opportunity to review your benefits to make sure they are still a good fit.

This guide will walk you through your options, so you can make smart decisions for your healthcare in the year ahead.

Here's what's changing on your benefits effective Jan. 1, 2026.

Medical Plan Changes

HDHP HSA Plan:

The HDHP HSA medical deductible will be:

  • $3,400 for individuals ($100 increase)
  • $6,600 for families (no change)

This change was necessary to meet the IRS requirements for Health Savings Accounts.

LocalPlus and Open Access Plus Plans:

Emergency Room copay will be:

  • $150 ($50 increase)

Free Telehealth Visits

If you enroll in one of the Cigna medical plans, telehealth visits are free to you when you use MDLive. If you haven't already, we encourage you to set up your MDLIVE account now, so it is ready when you need it.

Saving & Spending Account Limits

You can contribute more to the Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Accounts in 2026.

The Dependent Care FSA is increasing for the first time in many years to $7,500 ($2,500 increase)! Learn more on the Saving & Spending Accounts page of this guide.

There are no other changes to your health plans in 2026!
