COVERING YOU & YOUR FAMILY
You are eligible if you are an active full-time employee working 30 or more hours per week.
Eligible Dependents:
Many of the plans allow you to cover your eligible dependents, which include:
- Legally married spouse
- Domestic partner
- Dependent children, including:
- Children up to age 26 regardless of student or marital status
- Any child you support who lives with you in a parent-child relationship and for whom you are the legal guardian
- Disabled children of any age who are (or become) physically or mentally incapable of self-support
When can you enroll or change your benefits?
As a New Employee
As a new hire, you have 30 days to select your benefits. You must also supply supporting documentation for any family members you want to cover on your plans.
The benefits you select become effective on the first of the month following your hire date.
Note: Closely review your options as a new hire. Some benefits include special enrollment opportunities only available when you first enroll, so don’t miss out!
During Open Enrollment
Enroll during the annual benefits open enrollment period. This is your annual opportunity to review & change your benefits.
Open enrollment is typically held in the fall. The benefits you select become effective Jan. 1.
Open Enrollment for 2025 benefits is Monday, Nov. 4 through Friday, Nov. 15, 2024.
For Qualifying Life Events
Certain life events, called “qualifying life events” allow you to make a mid-year benefit change. Examples include marriage or divorce, birth or adoption of child, divorce, your spouse's benefits change, etc.
IMPORTANT:
If you experience a qualifying life event, you must notify Human Resources and provide documentation for your change within 30 days of the event.

Open Enrollment is your chance to:
- Add or drop coverage
- Change plans
- Add or remove a dependent from your plans
Don't miss out!
Once Open Enrollment closes, you may not enroll or change your coverage until the next Open Enrollment period. The only exception is for Qualified Life Events.
